THE SPIRIT TO SURVIVE - A Lifesaving Program

Nesta Chapman tumbles down mountainsides, leaps from speeding cars and jumps from planes, and it's all in a days work! Nesta is motivated to succeed in all that she pursues and motivates students to learn lifesaving strategies so that they can learn how to live another day.
Imagine successfully executing a new world record with 151 female skydivers in a synchronized skydive formation in California one week and then the next week performing a stunt underwater for a film shoot in Vancouver.
The year of 2005 marked a big comeback from a nasty and life-threatening injury two years ago during a skydiving exhibition at a soccer game. Serious injuries were sustained, but her extensive training and focus minimized the risks and saved her life.

Nesta Chapman began skydiving in the late '80's and has gone on to become a five time National Champion in Canada and at two world meets. Nesta achieved her Coach 1 and 2, Instructor A and B, Tandem Master and Course Conductor Certification in Skydiving. With more than 3,500 jumps on record, this October was her third record-breaking formation skydives. Check out www.jumpforthecause.com for the full story.
As a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York, Nesta decided to combine her love of acting and sports by pursuing a career in the film industry as a Film Stunt Performer. In her free time Nesta loves to ride her dirtbike and motorcycle, climb, scuba dive, ride horses, ski, snowboard, practice her martial arts and gymnastics, trap shoot, travel and hike all over the lower mainland with her one year old Saint Bernard.
Nesta's return to skydiving and her film stunt work demonstrate her incredible tenacity to overcome any obstacles in her path. She loves her work and loves to share her knowledge with young people and pass on the lifesaving skills in the BC Injury Prevention Centre's, "The Spirit To Survive" injury prevention program. Invite Nesta to your school to share her adventures and to help students realize their dreams in all their life pursuits.
